FO: When The Flowers Bloom

It's time to reveal how the "When The Flowers Bloom" pattern looks like. I know the MKAL was over long time ago. However, only recently I managed to take photos of the finished shawls.

Before the big reveal, let me tell the background story about this pattern first.

It took a long time for me to design this pattern. I think I knitted this pattern almost 5 or 6 times. The problem was that I could not make it into many sizes. Writing the pattern only one size pattern seemed not a good idea for me as some people like their shawl small, and some like it large. My goal is to sell as many patterns as possible and selling only 1 size seems to defy that goal.

To cut the story short, after re-knitting it many times, in the end I managed to design this shawl into 3 sizes. Below is the first finished sample in small size. I used 2 sizes of beads. Size 6 beads for the edging and size 8 beads for the body. At first, I used size 6 beads all over and I was not very happy with the result. The beads distracting the pattern on the body, so to the frog pond it went. The second try, I maintained the size 6 beads on the edging, but I used size 8 beads for the body. This time I love the result.

Wanna see?

Succeed with the small size, I immediately cast-on the medium size shawl. The medium size needs 2 skeins of yarn. This time I chose cobalt color.

The beads for this one was not as prominent as the previous one. The color is more subtle.
Here is the close up of the beads:
